Were looking for a dedicated Kaiako to join our whnau at Raroera Te Puawai Puna Reo where learning is grounded whakapapa, whanaungatanga and aroha. This is a permanent full-time (40hours per week) position based in Hamilton.

As one of our valued Kaiako, youll help create a safe, inclusive, and culturally rich space where every child feels seen, heard, and supported.
Youll lead and support learning aligned with Te Whriki, weaving in marau Mori and meaningful experiences that reflect our Kaupapa. You will document tamariki progress, build strong relationships with whnau, and work alongside a passionate team to create positive outcomes for our learners. Bachelor of Teaching (ECE or Primary) or a Level 7 Diploma in Teaching (ECE) A current Practising Certificate issued by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand Current First Aid Certificate (NZQA Reported) Full New Zealand Class 1 Drivers License Demonstrated experience working with and caring for tamariki At least 3 years teaching experience in a full immersion or te reo Mori environment Confident and fluent in both spoken and written te reo Mori A strong understanding of Mori culture, values, and tikanga Comfortable with some physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods This role is classified as a Core Worker and requires passing a safety check under the Childrens Act 2014. As a kaupapa Mori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of huatanga Mori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
